Questions
Short answers to what people ask before buying.
What do I need?
A modern web browser. To run the downloaded RTOS examples you also need a Linux computer, or Windows with WSL, plus gcc and git. The simulators need nothing installed.
Is it a replacement for a real board?
No. The simulators are simplified teaching models. They help you understand the ideas before you build on real hardware.
Does the downloadable code run on my microcontroller?
No. It is a real FreeRTOS program built for a normal Linux computer using the POSIX port, so you can compare its log with the simulation. It does not flash a board.
How many devices can I use?
Your licence is for you personally, on up to 2 of your own devices. If you change laptop or phone, a button on the screen lets you switch to the new device.
How long does access last?
The access period is shown at checkout.
Can I get a refund?
Please read the refund policy before you buy.
Which topics are not covered yet?
The coverage map inside the product lists everything honestly, including topics that are only explained and not simulated.
Is FreeRTOS code official?
FreeRTOS is the real kernel, used under its MIT licence. FreeRTOS is a trademark of Amazon Web Services, and EmbedRace is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon.
Can I share my login?
No. Your licence is personal, and the course files delivered to you carry a mark that identifies your account. Please read the terms of use.
